What is Technology Journalism?
Understanding today's high-technology world requires engineers and scientists to keep up with not only their own fast-moving fields, but developments in related and even unrelated fields. Development of a new drug, for example, doesn't just take medical science with a little biochemistry anymore. Genomics, proteomics, physics, computer science, and robotics all take a hand in moving from a need to a product. The designer of a new aircraft has to deal not only with aerodynamics and propulsion, but electronics, electromechanics, electro-optics, networking, computer programming, and so forth.
